The Rescue of a Heart Stealer...

My name is Bubba. . .My Rottie has saved my life, for real!
When we first got Sara I was overweight, a diabetic and couldn't make it to the end of the block without breaking out in a sweat.
Sara was rescued from my now wife's brothers back yard. . .He had 3 of them. Well, Sara was the runt of the litter. She is full grown but only 64 lbs., which is small for a Rottie...
The last straw was when I was over for a visit one day, and Sara took a really bad beating. She was bleeding and limping badly.
Little did I know as I saw her limp to her little dog house that she would be changing my life forever. With in two weeks my father-in-law was building a fence for her in our back yard.
Her first day with us, we could not even take off the leash without her yelping and crying as if we were beating her...
Well to make a long but fun story short, she now sleeps in a kennel beside our bed...the little yard we made for her has over grown with weeds.
And well, the house made for her now houses the stray ally cat I also feed. We walk roughly 3 to 5 km everyday, and I have lost 40 lbs and I am losing more slowly.
My insulin is nearly gone out the window....I am blessed everyday with the joy and love I have for my shadow as friends and family call her....
I said "I cant imagine having a dog in our lives". . .now it is "I cant imagine life without her"....
My doggy also loves the snow. . .just goes absolutely nutty in it...not sure what is up with the snow but to see her run and play brings such joy to my best friend (other than my wife).
She has a place in my heart forever and I owe my life to our Rottie, my savior, my loyal friend. . .I cannot put into words how she has changed my life...
As I write my story she is beside me on the floor in her kennel and I wonder how she will ever know how she saved my life and if she knows she is forever in my heart.....
